Dear Friend,

I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and enduring well in these difficult times.

I wanted to write and express my sincere thanks for the generous support and help you provided for my campaign for County Supervisor 2020. I worked very hard to run a competitive race. With your help I was able to raise over $800,000 and reach thousands of voters.

In the twenty-nine years that I have worked in the public sector in appointed positions and elected office, my passion for public service has been made stronger as the challenges have become more complex. Elections are not just a simple matter of "good guys" versus "bad guys" as that belies the far more complex factors that elected officials must now deal with as we see in the regional growth in homelessness and, now, the fight to control the Covid-19 pandemic.

I have always believed that the key to finding lasting solutions to our greatest challenges lies in the best integration of job creation and affordable housing opportunities, as well as public, mental, and health care services. That is what motivated me to run for County Supervisor, as this was my approach to improving the lives of the people I represented as a three-term member of the Los Angeles City Council.

Having your support has meant the world to me. From new and old friends and colleagues to those in public and community service, the business community, the non-profit sector, young and seasoned, the well-to-do, and others across the economic spectrum, it has been an honor to work with you. I look forward to being in touch with you again. Please feel free to contact me at any time as I am continuing to work hard, and to the best of my ability, to be of service to our community.

Gratefully yours,

Jan Perry
